Meet Joya

Joya is a full-time Registered Nurse, public health professional, and freelance writer.  She has over 10 years of clinical experience and is trained in critical care, trauma, cardiac cath lab, and interventional radiology.   Joya uses her broad experience to write research based health content to create engaging pieces that connect with audiences.  

She holds bachelor's degrees in nursing, political science, and women's studies and a Master's in public health.  She has written for hospital systems in Atlanta, Public Health Insight, and interned at the CDC during the COVID 19 pandemic.  

In her free time, she loves being outside with her dog, hiking, paddleboarding, and enjoying nature.
